The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

4.0

Type of read: Commuter (listened to and from work)

What made me pick it up: Suggested in my library or Goodreads list (can't remember which).

Overall rating: I'm going to start out by saying, by the end of this book, I thought it was a very good read; however, I had to restart a few times because I wasn't getting the sequence of events and characters. This could be due to the fact that I was listening to the audiobook and not reading a tangible or even e-version of the book. It might have been easier to follow along if there was more of a distinction between the different interweaving stories throughout the chapters. There's a lot packed into 'The Vanishing Half' and I will probably try to get my hands on a tangible copy to read again to better catch the parts I missed. I liked the story and really appreciated how the author approached not only the characters but their pasts and the hardships they faced. I would definitely recommend a printed version of The Vanishing Half.
