i'm not saying these are bad, i'm clearly enjoying it enough to keep on reading, but it isn't as life-altering as people made it out to be either. 
the friendships aren't really shown, we're just told that they exist. the characters don't develop, we're just told that they're changed out of nowhere. the villains are ridiculous, and frankly, i've stopped caring about finding Glendower ages ago, it's taking too long. feels like it's all one long setup for the final book.
