What to Do with a Box
by Jane Yolen
I read this for my preschool storytime on imagination. This was the third book I read. It lists different possibilities you can experience with a box, whether you pretend it's a library, a palace, a forest, and so on. I really love the illustrations and the way it embodies the textural elements of cardboard boxes, but some of the verbiage is a little muddled in my opinion. I think this could have possibly generated conversation, but at this point in the storytime the kids were really distracted by the boxes they were sitting in (reasonably so) that I went through this quickly and didn't read all of the lines to them.
