Well, this was slightly disappointing. I think that the second book was the best. Annith is an interesting enough character and her story did grab me but I saw the true identity of Balthazar coming a mile off as well as one of the other twists. I was also annoyed at the ending, I know that as it's based off history that's probably how it actually happened but it just felt a little to neat to me. Overall however this is a good book and I did enjoy the series just not quite as much as I expected.
