From the blurb, I really liked the premise of this book, and it started off really strong. Unfortunately, it just didn't hold up for me. The actual 'mystery' was resolved relatively quickly (well before the end of the book) and from there it just degenerated from there, becoming more and more fantastical and unbelieveable. The relationships at the heart of the book felt jaded and cliched, whilst the demonisation of a key character was ridiculous at best, and actually harmful at worst.
