There's something about Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail being an expertly crafted novel. It fulfills the implicit promise of the Bright Falls series: the protagonist doing the absolute opposite of the title.

Honestly, at the beginning of this book, I hated Astrid and by the end; I was rooting for her. That is a testament to Ashley Herring Blake's exceptional writing.

Jordan Everwood has me in a chokehold. From naming almost everything in her life after She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, honestly relatable, to being a whole-ass lumberjane.... Jordan Everwood is now on my list of top book girlfriends. The romance between Jordan and Astrid develops naturally and you find yourself falling in love with them as they fall in love with each other.

Also, the spicy scenes in this book were TOP NOTCH. They felt real, and they weren't cringe.

For fans of Delilah Green Doesn't Care, this book is a fabulous continuation into Blake's world with a plot that feels new and fresh.

Wow I am so gay and this book was awesome.
