Elizabeth's Spy Master: Francis Walsingham and the Secret War that Saved England
by Robert Hutchinson
challenging
informative
slow-paced
Biggest complaint is it’s density, mainly due to the large chunks of direct quotes. Also the font was tiny which didn’t help. But otherwise it was fascinating and I loved learning about Walsingham’s life. I do think it should have focused more on his life, because it focused so much on the various Mary queen of scots plots and the armada (important, don’t misunderstand) that I felt like I was missing who Walsingham was.
