Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
3.0
One of my favorite genres is historical fiction about WWII. However, what is required of a good historical fiction story is just that: a story. Otherwise, it's just a retelling of history. While I empathized with the plot of the Polish prisoners of concentration camps, Kasia's back story was less than compelling. Also, Herta's character was two-dimensional leaving me feeling neutral about her. I was hoping for more of a connection between the women. At the very least, I was hoping for more redemption after reading about the horrors that went on during this horrible event.
