Keeping the Castle
by Patrice Kindl
75% through this book all I could think was this is a satire of Jane Austen books. Silly names for the characters and way to many Victorian words thrown is just for good measure. I'm beginning to believe that Jane Austen wrote and everyone else rewrites Jane Austen and not to good. I read Jane Austen first so her books are the measuring stick I judge all other Victorian love stories by. That can be good and bad. Bad because no one yet has measured up to Jane Austen. Good because what better yard stick to use. Now all that said Patrice Kindl has a since of humor you can't help but enjoy and she makes some very pointed statements that I marked thinking how true.
