Pushing the Limits
by Katie McGarry
I'm not going to lie, this book was an I'm-on-holidays-and-bored-out-of-my-mind pick up that I thought would cause a lot of eye rolling and scoffing while two teenagers fell in love. Surprisingly, I picked the book up and couldn't put it down, it was a quick read but actually quite enjoyable. Here's the thing, I didn't hate the main character, in a lot of Young Adult novels these days the protagonist is annoying and you end up wanting to give them a good slap across the face with a wet fish. In the case of Pushing the Limits, I didn't want to hit Echo or Noah, I understood their reasons for the things they did and how they reacted to certain things. They were reasonable characters so thank you Katie McGarry for doing it right.
