Reading Law: The Interpretation of Legal Texts by Bryan A. Garner, Antonin Scalia

4.0

This is well-written and very readable, but also reveals how choosing which interpretive rule to apply in a particular case gives a judge like Scalia the ability to obtain the outcome he wants while still appearing to an objective originalist. See, for example, Richard Posner's review in The New Republic for more detail (https://newrepublic.com/article/106441/scalia-garner-reading-the-law-textual-originalism).
