Ballad of Nightmares by Jack Whitney

4.0

I enjoyed this so much! Jack Whitney’s writing is so beautiful!

This is a part one the Nightmares Duology and is a dark fantasy romance. This did start out pretty slow for me and it took longer than I’m used to for me to get into the story. Which I think tends to happen with fantasy novels since there is a lot of world building.

Samarius Cain, Death, Sam. The ultimate book boyfriend. I loved his character! Dark, broody, sexy, and witty. And then we have Ana who is really Deianira Bronfell was such a great FMC. I loved the fact that even though she was a moral human she was still BA, could still conquer kings and their kingdoms and didn’t let anything get in her way. And it wasn’t shoved down my throat that she “was only human” that happens in so many fantasy books.

Their push and pull relationship was so good and the spice was excellent! I can’t wait for the next book and to see what destruction they will wreak together!
