I tried something different this time and made notes as I read! So this is a full ⚠️spoiler⚠️ review but I’ll say right now that THIS WAS A VERY GOOD BOOK IN TERMS OF DEVELOPMENT!
- Jealousy that she can’t fuck lissa? I’m very confused. (After finishing the book I can say she is just battling jealousy of not being her friends soul form of attention, and this can become very real when a best friend of yours gets into a relationship)
- Lissa is a cunt, her friend literally saw a murder scene and she can’t keep her hands off her boyfriend for two seconds (yep, I said it)
- This girl can’t seriously not know where the heart is (come on dude)
- Mason is Misogynistic (this definitely fades over time but it was something that was dominated in his personality at the start)
- If a dhampier got agressive and joined the side of the strogoi they could literally use a stake in the shield and doom everyone
- I don’t know if it’s how mead writes dialogue but why does rose sound so dumb when what she is saying is so profound? Maybe they are trying to make her seem young but it has an adverse affect (at the start of the book it did but, like mason, develops over time)
- Really enjoying her development on the “blood whore” ideals. I’m happy to see rose defending them
- And then she goes and slut shames her mum... lovely
- Oh my fucking god “I had a black eye. A freaking black eye” WOWOW SO HARD TO BE A LITERAL DEFENDER OF EVIL BUT YOU HAVE A BLACK EYE (I still can’t get over this, her mum physically abuses her and she is cut because of her freaking looks are tarnished)
- I like that she was ready to go for mason, I get annoyed by characters trying to “ignore” or pretend they don’t feel for someone. Her blunt nature is nice
- I’d be so down for a lesbian relationship I would BE SO DOwn
- This is fucking weird my dude (the looking into Lisa’s mind when she was with Christian, very weird)
- The fuck is a whole school going on a skiing trip (like, how?)
- Really loving this character development
- Her built up secrets forming into random aggression at her friends and colleagues is very real. I’ve been in that same position so I can connect on that level
- Her trying to “use” Adrian (who is obviously using her) to get back at dimitri is just screaming “LOOK HOW CHILDISH AND BABY I AM WAAA WAAA” like, girl, have some self respect (I think this has SOMTHING to do with her taking Lossa’s “shadows” so, it is something I will keep in mind when she has childish fits)
- Everyone knows the second the main character says “there probably isn’t much alcohol in this” they are going to get plastered. UGH SO FRUSTRATING
- Wow and then she comes in with the incredible development stoping and fight between two morri with great points
- Aye mason didn’t use rose while she is drunk so that’s a plus (sad that at this point CONSENT is a plus
