Sex, Lies and Sensibility by Nikki Payne
I LOVED this book!
Things I am here for:
Authentic Black representation
Indigenous representation that is deep and multi-faceted
So many intersections! Nora has debilitating panic disorder. Bear has a speech impediment. Yanne has sickle cell disease. Brandon is the only other Black person in all of Maine (kidding). Yanne and Moxcy are Queer.
I loved the scene where Nora and Bear ask each other stupid questions.
I love the hair braiding in both Nora and Bear’s cultures.

I'm adding this book to #ReadDisabled2024 for the prompt More than One Disabled Main Character
