I adored this read. It was one of my favorites from the month. I will always love enemies to lovers. It delivers the best tension. Jack and Wren were everything.

I loved their introduction and then the jump in time. It allowed all that tension to simmer more. Even with their family’s closeness, their less-than-ideal introduction into their physical relationship led to their dislike of each other for years.

As a medical professional, I love that they are both doctors. After the five-year-jump, Jack is an attending in the ER, and Wren is an intern. This makes their impending relationship forbidden beyond her being Jack’s best friend’s little sister and 10 years younger.

I enjoyed that although the tension between them is palpable, they don’t push any further until something brings back Wren’s past trauma. Jack then can’t stop himself from comforting her.

I listened to the audiobook, and Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor nailed their roles, as usual. These two always deliver outstanding performances. I highly recommend this one. It is available to read for free on KU. I hope you read it and love it as much as I do. Let me know what you think!

Quotes:
“If you were mine, Cinderella, I’d take you over my knee and spank your beautiful ass red for intentionally being a brat and disobeying me.”

Wren: I mean it, Jack. I’ll be civil with you, but I don’t like the line we’ve flirted with. I will not be anyone’s regret again.
Jack: I never regretted you. It was everything else I didn’t know how to handle.

“I’ve tried to let you go so many times, but I can’t. I’m done with this bullshit. I’m done pretending I don’t want you every second of every minute of every hour of every day. I can’t let you go. Now let me take you home. Let me take care of you.”
