The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
5.0
I did not expect to have the emotions I did during this book??
I honestly think that the audiobook contributed a lot to how much I loved this. The narrator really went all out with voices to portray the children in a way that made me love him and them. They felt like children, and this was exactly what the message of the book is portraying too.
The children were the most precious and heartwarming part, I found myself genuinely smiling at my book like a weirdo during the interactions with the children. Linus with the kids? Beautiful, perfect, wonderful. Linus with Arthur? I'm gonna be honest the relationship felt a little lackluster and that's largely because the chemistry seems to happen off page more than anything. But the found family dynamic is truly spectacular.
The fantasy elements in here are so cozy and domestic, and it just makes for a wonderful reading experience.
