Fascinating and terrifying in equal measure. We all "know" how important sleep is, and yet we consistently and often intentionally deprive ourselves of it. This book very clearly shows that the result of such deprivation is not just tiredness, but a breakdown of nearly every biological, psychological, and emotional system we possess, and how that breakdown negatively affects society as a whole. A deep dive into a subject we all think we understand, but that, really, is nearly incomprehensible in its scope and impact on our lives. Highly, highly recommend.
