Miss-J: Mungkinkah Jerawat Membawa Cinta?
by Orizuka
For a high school story set in Indonesia, I reckon the background, characters, and storyline felt really authentic. Zero Korean influence, which was refreshing. (Tiny spoiler alert!) The seniority bits felt a bit much, if I'm honest, but I still stuck with it.
Lea's character is probably really relatable for any teenagers struggling with acne and losing their confidence because of it. But then you have Raya, who's a guy, and he's super open-minded and just a great complementary friend. I say 'complementary' because Lea's existing group of friends already balance each other out pretty well.
The ending was really satisfying, not just on the romance front, but also with Lea's personal revenge against one of the antagonists. Definitely a light read – I got through it in about a day!
