Annika Knowles has a pretty good life, she has friends, a job she enjoys, and an alpha who would do anything for her. But Annika Knowles isn’t real. She’s the identity Sparrow created when she decided to leave her old life behind for good. Now, that old life is about to catch up with her, or maybe it already has.

I liked Annika’s character, not only does she wield guns and knives like a badass, she also has a self confidence that you don’t always see in omegas. Omegas are often see as being soft, sweet, delicate. Annika is none of those things and she isn’t going to try to be. I also loved Grady, what can I say, I’m a bit of a sucker for an unhinged love interest. Cutting off a guys hand because he grabbed Annika against her will. 10/10 what a romantic gesture.

Overall, this is my least favorite of the High Roller Omega books, not because of any issues with the writing or the plot. This story just happens to include my two least favorite romance tropes and that caused there to be a few moments in the story that just didn’t hit the mark for me. However, if you enjoy tropes like, age gap, insta love, forced proximity, unhinged love interests, secret identities, and characters in hiding/on the run then I think you will really enjoy this story.
