Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review. Though I hadn't read any of the previous books in the series, Tempting the Prince was quite easy to follow and get on track with. The writing flowed very easily from start to finish and the storyline was not overly complicated. That being said, I had trouble caring about any of the characters. I felt they lacked a lot of depth and definitely needed more time given to writing their backgrounds. It is because of this that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I was hoping. The characters seemed to spend so much time running around in circles and the romance itself wasn't developed well. There may have been more significant moments in the previous two books between the two characters, but I am going off of what information had at my disposal throughout the book. For the amount of things that happened within the book to only occur within a few months was also hard to grapple with. The romance between the two main characters really only spanned a few weeks. I did really like the how part of the plot was centered around the fathers abdication and the struggles alongside that. I would have loved if that had had more of a prominent focus from the start. That and the sisterly bond between Mallory and Kelsey.
