I will always love anything Kelly writes because her character descriptions are always filled with empathy and love. This book follows the story of the three Nelson siblings who all happen to be in 7th grade (because the eldest, Cash failed 7th grade). It also revolves around the Space Challenger crash in 1986 which all elementary students viewed (because there was a school teacher selected for the launch). Each sibling has their own struggles and Kelly is able to portray a family that is flawed in a kind manner. The love of the siblings for one another is rather beautiful.
