King of Envy by Ana Huang is the fifth book of her Kings of Sin series. It is a romance with a morally gray male main character.

Vuk Markovic has been quite the mystery in this series—the scarred and silent billionaire who is a member of the exclusive Valhalla Club. (Plus, any visit to the famed Valhalla library is always a good time.) So, it’s needless to say that I was looking forward to this one. I always love to see the mention or appearance of earlier characters across all of her earlier books, and this one has plenty of that in here.

Ayana impressed me with her resiliency. I liked the idea of the beauty and the beast romance.
Although this is not one of my faves by Ana Huang, it was still good. I do feel like I’ve seen her writing grow over the years, which is fun. But, oh, how I wish Ana Huang had done a quick internet search on certain weapon features before writing them into her story. Oh well. But this is just a pet peeve of mine. There were some other elements here I wasn’t a huge fan of, but, overall, it was fine.

The tease for Sebastian and Maya’s story has me eager for the next in the series, King of Gluttony. But the one I’m really looking forward to is The Defender, the next in Ana Huang’s Gods of the Game series coming this fall.
