This book has given me a new appreciation for short stories. I went into this thinking that I wouldn't enjoy it that much but I have been non stop thinking about this book. This was the first time in a long time that I read about stories of simple hope for the future. These were publish in 1995 and the world has changed so much since then, but they still hold that sense of knowing that there are so many terrible things in the world but there is still hope that tomorrow will be better. It doesn't pretend that the world is perfect and no one has to go on crazy, life threatening journeys to learn about the world. I wish this book was more popular and that I found this author sooner. I'll be ordering her other books as soon as possible.
