Tin Man
by Sarah Winman
My daughter lent me this book. I read it in two sittings and thoroughly enjoyed it. I like authors who write using terse prose and in a simple style and yet who at the same time can say so much. Wingman does this really well.
The novel is so atmospheric. She manages to convey the essence of her settings so well - Oxford, Provence, London. The theme centring on the enduring bond between the two male and then one female character is done masterfully and with such empathy. The reader's journey through this book is emotionally taxing and yet so worthwhile and enjoyable.
