So, the writing is very good, and it moves quickly, almost too much so.  The magic is ok.  Nicely varried.  The ending isn't rushed. 
However, I really disliked the romantasy aspect of the book, the Dragon is ok, sorta bad, as a teacher, but believable in an abusive bored elite kinda way.  but the relationship between them really didn't add anything, and yeah.  I know massive age differences is on trend, but, this is taking it a little too far, and adds a like reluctant professor fucks undergrad element that I just don't like.  Threw the book across the room when they kissed, but finished it anyway.
