Somebody to Love: The Life, Death and Legacy of Freddie Mercury by Matt Richards

4.0

i thoroughly enjoyed this. i’ve been a Queen fan for a long time and always found Freddie Mercury fascinating, an LGBTQ+ icon and a true showman. my only other reference of Queen apart from their music was the film Bohemian Rhapsody, which i now understand had to change timelines and fabricate some things in order to create the narrative structure of a film.
whilst this book did dive into the origins of HIV/AIDS, i didn’t mind as i didn’t know a lot about the disease. it was informative and had a good balance of medical and biographical writing. very good i liked it :)
