I liked this book but it just felt a bit hollow if that makes sense? Reading it after reading Daisy Jones and The Six left it in a pretty disadvantaged place to start so it could have done a lot worse but I still felt a little underwhelmed by it.
The premise promised a lot more than it gave, for a book about a Malibu dream house going up in flames, I wanted the fire to represent more than a mediocre symbol for the main character to move on.
None of the characters were particularly groundbreaking or unique and I felt like I’d read all of them in different fonts before.
It wasn’t a bad book, just underwhelming and not a cat in sight.
