This series is so beautifully drawn and rendered that the art makes it worth the price of admission alone, but the story is also really compelling as well which just makes the experience of working my way through them that much sweeter. I'm not the biggest fan of Gillen's style for some things, such as shocking twists that come from right out of nowhere with nothing to really telegraph their 'a-ha!' moments for the reader beforehand, but there's enough detail going on that you know Gillen isn't just flying by the seat of his pants even if it sort of feels like it sometimes, and that saves the series from some of my more petty complaints about it. Also, one thing Gillen is really good at doing is pulling off a cliff-hanger that demands his readers turn up for the next issue.
