“Home is what you take with you, not what you leave behind.”
I had my doubts about how good this book would be when I started reading it, as the prologue was rather slow and confusing, but interesting nonetheless, and then it simply blew me away. The author manages to unravel almost everything in such a satisfying way with a fitting end (There are still some unanswered questions, but I believe the sequel will handle that ). Pacing was pretty good, and the mystery had me intrigued for the whole time. With that being said, it's also a tough read. It's dark, depressing, and devoid of humor except for some characters being sassy. As much as I loved this, I wouldn't recommend it to you if you dislike extremely bleak worlds in fantasy.
