shanbonan 's review for:
The Rise of Magicks
by Nora Roberts
This was a pretty good end to an unusual trilogy for Roberts. Herr typical trilogies focus on three couples, one couple for each book, and an overarching Big Bad that they have to defeat. This one had a Big Bad but just one primary couple, along with many well-developed characters who played important roles in all three books.
There was a bit of a YA feel to this - the primary couple were, I think, around twenty years old - and, quite honestly, although the couple were apparently destined to be together I didn't feel a lot of chemistry between the two. Still, romance wasn't a huge part of the story so that lack of chemistry didn't affect the story line too terribly much. In all, an enjoyable read and a nice change of pace for Roberts.
