Thought it was really good, but oddly struggled through it even though it was fairly short. definitely a fault of my reading ability and not the book - I’d like to take another pass at it at a different time.
Very challenging in the ways it makes you reflect on yourself as well. It’s hard to even write this review because on one hand, I like personally documenting what I thought for my own memory. And at the same time, subconsciously my ego knows that this is a public site, where anyone could view this, and I’d like to be perceived as someone who has good taste and can write a good review.
The book captured the intense feelings of online culture and influencer culture so well it was almost painful at times. Probably why I didn’t love it as much, because it’s putting a big light on the negative impacts of social media and fan behavior I actively engage with and am not ready to sort out. Aside from all of that, it was so fucking funny.
