The Lioness by Chris Bohjalian
3.0

Set in 1964, a safari with a Hollywood starlet on her honeymoon and a group of her friends gone wrong and the group is kidnapped by Russians mercenaries. Great premises but the story is told from the perspective of each person in the group, over 10 people and flips back and forth between present and past. This does help getting to know the character but there were too many characters. Too often the book goes back into the past of a character when just something exciting happened. At times, the story felt too violent, described in very graphic details and it is not a happy ending book.

I read that the book will be made into a TV series and I can see that this book will actually be better as a TV series.
