October: The Story of the Russian Revolution
by China MiƩville
I was glad to be done with this book. The publisher claims that it is for the reader new to the events being described, but this is no introductory level read. Most of the time, I could follow the big picture of what was happening, but the details were very confusing. Especially if you can't remember the names of what felt like hundreds of political groups and sub-groups, as well as individuals and which group they belonged to. I'm glad I read it, and I hooe to use what I learned to build off of it as I read more books about Russian history, but it was not an easy read. True rating: 2.5 stars.
