Chasing River by K.A. Tucker

My Review:

Chasing River is by far my favorite out of the series and kind of makes up for the last book, which I just didn’t enjoy as much as I wanted. Chasing River is a whirlwind of emotions, heart filling moments, adventure, discovery, and a swoon worthy guy. Once I picked this one up, I just couldn’t put it down.

K.A. Tucker is, in my opinion, a master when it comes to writing a book that captures many emotions, allow you to truly feel for her characters, and ache and rejoice with them. This book was no different.

I instantly connected with Amber on many levels. On wanting to find who she really is, explore, see more than just her small town, to break away from her comfort zone. And even though she came off as timid, a bit shy, and reserved you find that she’s actually very brace, has a huge heart, and a loving personality. Her growth throughout the book was fun to watch develop. From being that timid character at the beginning to navigating all the encounters she experiences once she’s in Ireland. By the end, she was able to see passed peoples mistakes, and understand people who are different than her. I loved watching her transitions.

Then there is River and my god, I love him. His life is completely different from Amber’s on so many levels. Watching those contrasting elements of personalities and beliefs were an interesting concept. River has pretty much already found himself by the time Amber comes into his life. So there wasn’t a lot of character development for him, but he does end up finding his place and he was able to fully separate from his past by the end of the book. River was a character who just wormed his way into my heart. Sweet, sexy, and endearing on so many levels. I loved that he was proud of his country, of his family history. I really fell hard for him.

The chemistry between them was intense from the moment they meet. And, yes, their relationship does start quite fast as does their feelings for each other. But it didn’t feel like that aspect of the book was rushed nor did it feel forced. They are so sweet together that you can’t help but smile whenever they were interacting. I also loved that characters from the first book and the next book made an appearance.

The book flowed fast, but the pacing didn’t feel rushed. The environment felt real and I honestly felt like I was getting a real glimpse of Ireland. I loved that Tucker gave us some brief history of Ireland. I became addicted to this story with its beautiful emotions, foreign setting, and heartwarming romance.

Chasing River was beautiful. Simple as that. It took my breath away and left my heart in such a happy state. River swept me off my feet and I admired Amber quite a lot. A must read in my opinion.
