First Thoughts: This is a darker world than other Bargudo novels and it took me a little longer to become invested in the lead character but as the story unfolds this feels like it may be by design. The denouement is fantastic and I’m psyched to see where the sequel takes them.
Re Read Thoughts: Coming at this fresh without Bardugo’s other novels recently in my mind I liked this even more than the first time. The dual timelines / dual PoV works well for crafting the world and somehow the denouement still grabbed me. So stoked for the next book if only my hold
Would come in already!
