The Seawomen by Chloe Timms
3.0
3.75 stars
When I first started this I was really hoping to love it. Overall I liked it and it had a strong start but like others have said, the pacing suffers a bit from being very slow and then all of a sudden everything happening at the end. I also felt that some of the threads ended up being a bit weak and I wasn't totally satisfied with the revelations and the way they came together. The book did do a great job building the oppressive dread and the suffocating atmosphere of the community though and leave me feeling quite unsettled. Ultimately I'm leaving this at 3 stars instead of rounding up to 4 because I just wanted a little bit more from the story I think.
