Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

5.0

Red, White, and Royal Blue tells the story of the witty, charming, sometimes abrasive First Son of the United States Alex Claremont-Diaz. Everything would be dandy, except Alex harbors a long standing hatred of Britain's Prince Henry. When the two spark a small international crisis, the best way that the U.S. and Britain decide to handle it is by making the two become friends, even if just for the cameras. But love and romance have other ideas as Alex and Henry manage a secret relationship that, if exposed, could topple the identities and ideals of two nations. Will Alex and Henry be able to prove that love can withstand anything?

McQuiston's world is the one we wished would have been produced in America in 2016, or something closer to it than what actually resulted. This book will make you cry, laugh, and tug at your heartstrings. All I know is that the world McQuiston built is one I want to be in.
