Jack Charles: A Born-Again Blakfella
by Jack Charles
I found this book to be super engaging. Jack Charles is a Stolen Generations survivor and throughout this story talks about the significance of that on his life.
He writes with humour, joy, and devastating honesty. In some ways this book was easy to read because of Jack’s tone but it also had me crying. A lot.
A must read.
CW: child sexual abuse, institutional child abuse, incarceration, rape, police abuse against Indigenous people
