Set on You
by Amy Lea
Firstly you should add this book to your tbr immediately!
This is Amy Lea’s debut novel. Amy is a fellow bookstagrammer and that blew my mind! This book is a light-hearted rom-com with an important message. It is a quick, entertaining, steamy, and banter-filled story.
I was hooked from the first chapter. The characters are likable and very funny. Crystal and Scott’s interactions and banter from the start of the book had me laughing and swooning. Amy’s writing style is fun, witty, and easy to follow. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the third-act breakup. It made little sense and honestly felt a little unnecessary.
I think this book does an incredible job of showing an important message about mental health that self-love and body positivity aren’t attainable every day and that it’s okay to have those bad days but to focus on body acceptance instead. This message is written in such a relatable way that you can’t help but think this book was written exactly for you. Amy did a great job of balancing this important message and still being able to keep this story light and fun.
My favorite part was the spotlight on social media use and how it can damage someone’s self-respect. Social media can be a great comfort or support space but is also a place with people like trolls who just want to be hateful.
Definitely a must read book, It had me laughing out loud, swooning, and grinning like crazy throughout.
