Vows & Ruins by Helen Scheuerer
4.0
The ending had me nearly in tears, the betrayal!
I loved the action and the battle scenes they were done so well, the worldbuilding was expanded with Thea and Wilder going on a quest to discover more about her and deal with the looming threat of the shadow creatures.
There is an issue I had and was the spicy scenes where a bit too much, especially when they didn’t really add to the plot and felt like they were forced and put in there to fill up the pages.
I loved Wren even more in this book and her trouble with Torj and her friendship with Cal and Kipp.
The stakes were high in this book, but I felt not as high as the first one there was at times no sense of fear or dread until near the end with the battle.
I still devoured this book and am about to read the next.
