This book just didn’t work for me. It’s one of those stories that loses all its power when you know what the big twist is. Unfortunately, I had the twist accidentally ruined for me before I was very far in, but it was already kinda weird and suspicious before that. I don’t think I would have felt much better about it if I had gone in blind. How can anyone read this without feeling ripped off? Perhaps a younger reader would go for this type of plot, but it was a bit painful for me. And that ending - ugh! A letdown after Five Feet Apart.
