Never Meant to Stay by Trisha Das

Wow! I picked this one up as my Amazon First Reads for November, not expecting much, but I continue to try and diversify my reads so figured I'd give it a shot. I am so glad I did! This book warmed my soul in a way I didn't think would happen from a book. So many of our characters grew into wonderful people, they healed together, their relationships were rebuilt.
Samara wiggles her way into everyone's lives and their business, she knows why she does this yet and that it isn't always received well, and yet she can't stop herself. She has a wonderful way of knowing what each person needs in that moment, silence, a shoulder to cry on, a distraction and she's there for them.
I also loved her best friend in New York Maya who clearly care about Samara and just wants the best for her. It would have been easy for her to talk Samara into sticking to their plan, guilting her a little, and returning to New York even when Samara starts to question what she wants going forward. But instead, she supports her best friends, letting her know she'll always support her decisions.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more books from Trisha Das.
