The Aeneid by Virgil
3.0

I've translated parts of this book during Latin classes in secondary school, so I wanted to give the entire book a try. The narrative is nice and the comparisons to nature throughout the book are great, although sometimes confusing a bit. They don't distract from the story as the comparisons are aligned perfectly with what is happening in the story.
A little annoying were for me, as a modern reader, all the mentions of (what people back in ancient times saw as) famous Romans, because I did not know who they were, which was distracting from the story. I'm pretty sure, however, that ancient Romans reading this story would have loved the inclusion.
Even though I was often easily distracted, this is a nice read overall for lovers of Latin and Greek mythology, as it has a nice plot and the storyline is interesting, even for a modern audience.
