Alright so I will admit I found this book through Booktok and I did think it would go differently than how it did. That isn't to say it went bad, just wasn't my expectation. Overall, I enjoyed this book it had an engaging plotline, the characters were easy to follow and the writing style was great. I had forgotten I had read another book previously from this author and wondered why it felt familiar.

A few issues I had were the way the characters talked (not the best way to start convo's and at some parts felt very forced) and went back and forth with each other. I didn't enjoy how wishy-washy they were simply because I felt called out for my own actions when it comes to that sorta stuff. The Love Interest was a little awkward for me because a lot of things I liked and then he had a few things that I just wasn't vibing with very well. I also felt like the relationship was highly toxic and wished that that had been stated within the synopsis because it comes across as more "drama second chance" not "dark second chance." The MC I did relate to quite a bit but also can see why other people may not and could dislike her. I also didn't enjoy the billionaire/rockstar part of this book so I don't think those books are really for myself but if you do like those then this one does focus quite heavily on that aspect.

One thing I personally loved seeing was the representation for Indigenous women. The MC was a little iffy on this part (mainly because she wasn't the focus when it came to this) but when it was talking about the Reservation and the statistics for Indigenous women and children being kidnapped, raped, etc. it was absolutely heartbreaking. It is not a topic that is talked about nearly enough when it needs to be. I am usually the type of person that doesn't focus on social, political, etc. aspects within books but this was done in a way that the author got the point across without detracting from the books plotline. Essentially I am saying that she was able to put these parts in while making sure it didn't pop you out of the story/book.

**Obviously, I am not Indigenous so I want to make a disclaimer that this may not be okay at all or a good representation of this situation to which if it isn't I would appreciate someone letting me know so I can rework this review and have a better understanding. **
