The Sanatorium
by Sarah Pearse
Well written, the suspense got me hooked from the start. The multiple plot twists ensured that I didn't get the criminal right - not at first, not at second - but... and I don't know how to completely explain this... I was expecting "more". More a WOW factor maybe, in the crime itself and the motive, given all the suspense and the intricate plot that was being woven. Also, and not trying to spoil, but the "family plot" that happens parallel to the major one was also super suspense-y... for nothing, I'd say. That part I felt like was missing much more development and in-depth talks about the matter. And that's all - all in all, makes for a good read, and the epilogue is quite interesting. Again: suspense, suspense, suspense.
