Books Promiscuously Read: Reading as a Way of Life by Heather Cass White

3.0

A book that pivots from short ruminations on reading in the first chapter, which I thoroughly enjoyed, to more conventional literary criticism in some of the other chapters. There are some wonderful insights in the book about "why we read," but other sections with heavy references to poetry and literary classics were reminiscent of many literature courses I took in college, and thus less engaging.
