Blade Breaker
by Victoria Aveyard
Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard, Narrated by Natalie Naudus; 5 Stars
Victoria Aveyard has long been one of my favourite authors; and not just because of Red Queen. I follow her on all social media platforms and I absolutely love her as a person as well as an author. The main thing that I love about the Realm Breaker series, especially in Blade Breaker, is the immense depth of each character. Every single character in this book is so ridiculously detailed and I quite literally love them all. On the same side of the coin, the depth in the characters then makes amazingly written relationships; both platonic and romantic. Each character has their own unique relationship with each other and it is so refreshing to read. Corayne and Charlie, Sorasa and Valtik, Andry and Dom; all of them feel real.
Andry and Corraine, honestly the cutest, Domacrion and Sorasa; definitely my favourite couple but I can’t decide if I want them to actually get together or to stay friends but keep up the crazy tension. And last but certainly not least, Erida and Teristan… why is their relationship the most organic (kind of) forced proximity love story? I’m obsessed. Erida was one of my favourite characters in Relam Breaker, closely following Sorasa and Dom, but her dynamic with Teristan in this book just put her over the edge for me. She is such an interesting character and though she’s not really a good guy, I have Mavan sympathies. Though Mavan was way worse than her and I know I shouldn’t love him, Queen Aveyard said so herself, but I just can’t help it don’t judge.
Overall this series just has pulled me in in the best way possible. I am rooting for both sides and I have no idea what is going to happen in Fate Breaker, but I cannot wait!
