This story could've been good but it tried too hard. The World building was hard to follow: auras, different types of bonds, rouges and Duchess, gold pack,... I feel like we needed a Glossary before chapter one to be able to understand everything. I don't think the additions are bad at all, but understanding them took most of the length of the book.
Besides that, there were so many plot twist, the narrative was not linear, trauma was almost only explained through flash backs, almost every character had a major secret,... Too much going on (which made listening to the book even harder than reading would've been I feel like)
