Annie you absolute fucking psychopath, I love you! 😂

This book is a ride, an intentional slow burn ride at times, but when the pace picks up it delivers. There is a building tension through the book that grows stronger as the subtle cat and mouse game plays out between Annie and Paul - each strategizing to survive or get what they want.

It’s interesting to see Paul struggle with the physical pain caused by Annie while also navigating the physiological warfare and mind games with her to appease her unpredictable personality and emotions to avoid her wrath. Annie is also a fascinating antagonist. A complex and horrifying mind that doesn’t align with what we expect from a middle aged, country dwelling, nurse, and that is what makes her such a monster.
