Midnight Sun by Trish Cook
2.0
*2.5
I will admit that despite Midnight Sun being a very short book, I struggled to finish it by the end of the book I just felt exhausted from forcing myself to finish it. I loved the idea that the author Trish Cook had to give XP, a rare condition called xeroderma pigmentosa, the spotlight while informing the public about the disease. Unfortunately, I wish the author had focused more on the disease itself, instead of Katie, the main character, finding love and risking her life to experience it and be normal. I do believe that everyone deserves to have love in their life, I just feel that it in this particular story took away from the story.
The way the author decided to end Midnight Sun, was extremely odd. It literally took me a few minutes to realize that was going on and connect what happened a few pages prior to the last page. I read the last page, and honestly thought it was a memory of Katie's from when she was younger.
I don't feel that this is a book I would come to read again. It simply wasn’t interesting to read and I quickly grew bored.
